Cities in Japan to travel to: Tokyo, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Osaka, Kyoto, and Matsuyama.

Itinerary:

Flew from Traverse City to Tokyo on our 14 hour flight.

Tokyo 3-6

Day 1 : May 3

• checked into Airbnb in Adachi, Tokyo (We stayed at Adachi Tokyo Airbnb )
• went to 7 eleven around the corner for snacks and getting yen from ATM
• recovered from jet lag lol

Day 2 : May 4

• Stayed in Adachi, Tokyo
• bfast at Japan McDonald’s!
• Senso-ji Temple
• Ueno Park
• Peony Garden
• Went to Shibuya Sky
• Shibuya Scramble
• Uniqlo
• Uobei Genki Ramen
• Docomo Tower view at night from Yoyogi Park
• Tokyo Station

Day 3: May 5

• Niju-Bashi Bridge Tokyo, Japan
• Walk around entire Imperial Palace for 4 miles
• Imperial Palace East Gardens
• Traditional meal at Okonomiyaki Kiji, Tokyo, Japan
• Downtown Tokyo
• Shinkansen to Mt Fuji
• Fujisan Yumeno Ohashi Bridge @
• Shizuoka Prefecture , Japan
• Tokyo Skytree view from at night below

Sapporo 6-8
Day 4: May 6

• Flew from Tokyo-Sapporo
• Sapporo Kaiso Yosida Mohachi Monument corner for cherry blossoms on street
• Crossed Toyohira river to get to our stay at ( Sapporo Airbnb )
• Odori Park
• Mount Moiwa
• Ramen Alley

Day 5: May 7

• Shinei-ji Temple
• Terra Farm to Table
• Hill of the Buddha
• Espresso D Works

Fukuoka 8-10

Day 6: May 8

• Flew from Sapporo to Fukuoka
• Arrived to our Airbnb Fukuoka Airbnb
• This was a safe spot to stay but not as we expected from the listing pictures showing multiple unit options not all photos are what you get (We thought we were getting 2 rooms but the listing is actually for one room and a loft floor bed)
• Ohori Park
• Ohori Brewery for dinner

Day 7: May 9

• Akashiji Temple Shukubo
• Narufuchi Dam
• 五塔の滝 Five Pagoda Falls
• お食事処 港屋 Noodles at Minatoya, Sasaguri, Fukuoka. (We HIGHLY recommend this spot!)
• •Sunset at Sakurai Futamigaura in Itoshima.

Osaka and Kyoto 10-12

Day 8: May 10

•Flew from Fukuoka to Osaka

• Kept our luggage safe at Luggage Storage Osaka so we could go to more site seeing while waiting for out Airbnb.
• Osaka Castle
• Arrived to our airbnb stay at Airbnb Osaka

Day 9 : May 11

• Kyoto Gyoen
• Kyoto Sento Imperial Palace
• Fushimi Inari Taisha Torii Gates, Kyoto (I loved Fushimi Inari, but I was shocked how uphill it was in some spots since most people apparently take photos at the beginning and do not do the hike. So make sure to have the right outfit and shoes to do the hike. )
• Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

Matsuyama 12-14

Day 10: May 12

• Flew from Osaka to Matsuyama
• Arrived at our Airbnb Matsuyama
• Went to Matsuyama Castle while it was raining (This was still really cool to see even with heavy rain to see how the water ways of the castle work in action)
• Tokyoaburagumi Sohonten Matsuyamagumi 東京油組総本店 松山組 for ramen! 🍜

Day 11: May 13

• Private hot springs spa onsen ♨️ Dogo Onsen Annex Asuka-no-yu
• We loved this onsen because not only could you get your own private room, but also they are more modern and are tattoo friendly if you have people in your group who may have a tattoo, they also allow and provide yakata (a japansese bathing robe) in their hot springs so you can enjoy the hot spring as a group mixed gender.
• Dogo Italiano for pizza
• Explored around Dogo, Matsuyama, Japan

Day 12: May 14

• pack up in the morning for the long 3 flight treck home!
• Flew from Matsuyama->Tokyo->Detroit->Traverse City
